A job in the PR industry is something that I have always dreamed about. I love being creative and expressing my thoughts through writing and communication.

The fashion industry is massive. It is a rapid field where work is broad and hours are long. I love how you end up doing a very 'hands-on' job and can end up working for multiple brands.

The job of a fashion publicist can be hard. This is due to the responsibilities you have to deal with on a daily basis. However these roles are just normal jobs for a fully trained PR professional. For example, the most basic PR trend is creating a strong brand for your client. You have to make the brand distinctive so the public recognises it and your client does not become a failure. An example of a successful campaign would be Nike's better for it. The brand must always be the centre of attention, being a PR professional has to be put behind. Creating a strong brand is the main priority.

Being a fashion publicist means that you have to make sure a customer is happy. An unhappy customer equals an unsuccessful product. For example, the Urban Outfitters Holocaust inspired tapestry. This means that as a PR professional you must have a strong relationship with the media. Press releases are most important in working in the PR industry. If a journalist likes your story, it will get published in a newspaper or magazine thus creating strong brand control and identity.

Digital media is very important for a fashion publicist. With 600 million users on Instagram, it is important that you engage with customers and the public on social media. It is important to show off the products in the correct way, if done correctly sales of the product will boom. More sales equals a happy client.

Working in the PR industry can be difficult. As you are always busy doing something. However, it is very exciting if you commit to the work and believe in fashion and what the brand represents.

I love a challenge. Working in the PR industry shows how you must be hard working and willing to give new ideas about a brand. You also have to connect with your client and public's. Being a fashion publicist has always been my dream. I love the idea of promoting a product with the use of digital media and creating a strong brand image.

The world of fashion public relations is not as glamorous as it may seem. But it's a career I have always been motivated to work in, even if it is challenging.

CHARLOTTE'S

FASHION TIPS

#1
Denim stretches in the wash. So if you're in doubt, always choose the smaller jeans size.

#2

If you have an old bag, put it on the back of your bathroom door. This is the perfect way to store makeup, hair bobbles, accessories and toiletries.

#3
To remove a lipstick stain from clothes, use hairspray. (Trust me, it works).
